A summer is coming to Finland. It have been warm weather on this week. Butterflies can be seen and birds are singing just like they used to during a spring. Now I´m thinking why I´m writing about weather. Maybe because it´s one of few subjects that Finns can talk about with a stranger.

Tomorrow will be Vappu - a day of a big celebreation of working class and students. Some years ago Japanese tourists we´re amazed about Finnish customs. I read an interview of them from a newspaper and it had a very funny detail in it: Japanese tourists laughed to Finnish custom of marking all drunk people with white hats during Vappu!

They got that impression because many students that have already graduated from senior highschool, keep their hats and yes - are often very drunk. Of course that kind of celebration with an alcohol happens outside of Finland, but it doesn´t look same there. Here it´s more public and some people are really really drunk. It´s easy to find a young student humiliating themselves in public.

However, I will also celebrate this Vappu too. I have invited my friends to come at the regular place of our parties - at Keinola´s railway station. We have fun and humiliate ourselves mostly out of sight. Except a one probable visit into a local bar. Nice beginning of spring to everyone!
