A small kind of apocalypse

Before the last sunday night I have always left rock festivals during the last day. Especially in Provinssirock, which lasts three days: after that I want to get a shower in home and sleep comfortably. In Provinssirock 2005 I did exception this year. I saw how most of the people left during sunday evening and camping area started to look very different. Few random tents everywhere and A LOT of garbage, even usefull stuff that people have decided to leave behind.

Religios converters whom are part of rock festivals (at least in Finland) keep telling about apocalypse, the end of the world. Walking around camping area with a friend made me think that maybe they have a good point. Not just living in such a shitty place, but people stealing stuff all the time, even things that they don't probably need. A backpack of my friend, with some sleeping equipment was stolen from my tent during a short walk around the camping area. Who really need that stuff? I can understand a cell phone (which was stolen from me during the first night) but why such pretty useless stuff?

I didn't mention yet the guy who was burning plastic chairs in the middle of the road. You can see that going on in the last picture down there. Just like the flames of burning chairs, bands made me warmer too. Mew, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails to mention few, made me warmer. Without a polluting smoke.
During friday I was in the centre of Seinäjoki with Rauli, Antti and Sonja. They look really good, don't they? Antti took this from a car, while I was standing in the only rain during whole festival. Rauli is drinking beer inside his car. I was drinking beer too, outside of his car. Rauli smiles because he already knew this would happen: Sonja drinks too much and can't take care of herself. People in a queue waiting to get inside the festival area. The sun and Slipknot are warming up Finnish people. 22 Pistepirkko having a gig. A dark clouds were probably part of the show of Marilyn Manson. Performance of Nine Inch Nails was probably the best for me in the whole festival. Something unnatural! People break stuff a lot in rock festivals! Erno is hanging around with some funny people. Some dudes decided to drum some music to entertain us and scare away mosquitos. Drumming lured people all around the camping area to gather around it. One of them told me how an ordinary barbecuing of sausages ended up into this: burning of plastic chairs in the middle of the road.

The quote of the day
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure."
