Just like I read from a Newsweek of my father, America is not a model anymore. It´s more an opposite, something to avoid, something that many people don´t want Finland to become. Why should we be like America anyway? Even tough Mr. Bush declared in his Inaugural Address that "American´s have the best medical care in the world" we seem to have even better. Which is just not only our own opinion, but also World Health Organization agrees with that. I think we have better president too, who don´t say such a nonsense time to time.

I don´t even remember the time when USA would been any kind of model to young people. Don´t get me wrong, most of us don´t have anything against individual, American people. It´s the American system and society that we dislike. However, this disliking mostly shows up in humourous discussions about it. We laugh a lot to American idiotisms like "home defence with M16". Another thing that makes many of us see tragicomical humour Americans, is their way to see themselves. People are only conservatives and liberals and thats it? The real life really follows the pattern of good and evil of Hollywood movies?

Of course there is different parties and different opinions in Finland too. But still, I don´t feel that our people is divided at all. I can find common values and ideas when discussion people from many kind of parties and ideologies. I think that building a better world is possible only when we try to find things that unites us, makes us together. Instead of searching differences we can get more results by concentrating to things that we all agree. Maybe it´s easy to me say this. Far away from the land of "the best medical care in the world". We shall remain "sick".
